How to prepare to visit
Brazil if you live in the U.S

US-citizens need a visa, but
it can be obtained by mail from
your nearest Brazilian consulate.
As with most international
travel, you'll also require a
valid passport.You need a
passport ; and you also need a
visa to enter Brazil from the US.
The visa must be
acquired before coming to Brazil.
After acquiring the visa you must
enter Brazil within 90 days for
the visa to be validated; and the
visa, typically, is good for
multiple entries for five years.
Don’t do as a
friend of mine did and show up at
the airport without the visa. He
was stranded in Chicago for two
days trying to get the visa and
straighten out his flight and
hotel reservations.
Requeriments for getting a
brazilian visa:
· Passport valid for at least an
additional 6 months
· Copy of round-trip ticket
· 1 recent passport-size photo
(color or B&W)
You can apply for your visa as
much as three months ahead of
your trip.
Most people go for the regular
tourist visa, which allows you to
stay
for as long as three months (you
can renew if necessary). There is
also
a transit visa, good for ten days
only. Both are easy to get in
person
or by mail.
